National Kidney Registry Announces Founding Benefactors Fundraising Campaign
Support Will Allow National Kidney Registry to Help Those Facing Kidney Failure
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - The National Kidney Registry (www.kidneyregistry.org) announced its Founding Benefactors fundraising campaign with a goal to raise $250,000 by the end of October 2007. The Registry's Founder, Garet Hil, and his wife Jan have initiated the fundraising drive with a contribution of $100,000.
"Every time we see our daughter running or riding her bike, we are reminded of the miracle of kidney transplants and want other people to experience this miracle. We have been thrilled with the tremendous response to our web site. After just one week, we have over forty people in the system. Most of these people want to become living donors and give the gift of life. I have personally spoken with many of these people and am awed by their conviction and generosity," said Garet Hil, founder of the National Kidney Registry.
Founding benefactors will be given permanent recognition on the Registry's web site. Donations can be made online with a credit card at www.kidneyregistry.org or checks can be made out to The Kidney Registry and sent to PO Box 460, Babylon, NY 11702. If you have appreciated securities that you would like to donate, please call the Registry at (800) 936-1627 or (631) 517-9546. No contribution is too small.
Anyone considering becoming a living donor or anyone facing kidney failure that has an incompatible or poorly matched donor should contact the National Kidney Registry or visit the website at www.kidneyregistry.org.
