Welcome! Donating a kidney and starting a Donor Chain will truly help many in need. We are here to answer all questions and make the living donation process as easy as possible. Please note that NKR provides a donor insurance policy to all Good Samaritan kidney donors (click for more information). Below is our 10- step process:

Step 3 |
Both you and your Doctor complete and return the Medical Certification Form. |
Step 4 |
Complete the basic tests listed on the bottom of the Medical Certification Form and send the results to us. |
Step 5 |
Once we have your basic test results cleared by our medical board, we will contact you to schedule your donor evaluation. |
Step 6 |
The donor evaluation takes place at one of our participating centers. |
Step 7 |
Once we have the results from the donor evaluation, we will begin the matching process. |
Step 8 |
Once we find a match, a cross match (blood test) will be done. This can be done through the mail. |
Step 9 |
If the cross match is OK we will begin to schedule a surgery date. |
Step 10 |
There is a final cross match (blood test) one week before surgery at one of our participating centers where the surgery will take place. |
